Eligible households participate in at least one of the following programs or have a child/dependent who participates in one of these programs:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps
Medicaid
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
Tribal Programs (and live on federally-recognized Tribal lands)
Additional eligibility criteria may apply to residents of federally recognized tribal lands. Income-based eligibility is determined by the total household income at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.
Lifeline offers federal “recurring monthly” credits, totaling $5.25 for voice services or $9.25 for internet broadband services, for each customer eligible for Lifeline assistance.* An additional credit of $3.50 may be available to qualifying phone customers through our state’s Lifeline program, Nebraska Telephone Assistance Program (NTAP).
The credit amount will not exceed the total Subscriber Line Charge and Residential Local Exchange rate.
